It was the last Monday of the year 2024, and of course, since our work is related to livestock, we went to work to finish some year end transactions and all.
The day started bad for me since I got 1 minute late and gets 1.5 hour salary deduction for it. The clock on the biometrics was 3 minutes advanced and the HR doesn't care about it perhaps because they have a 15 minute exemption for late while we don't have.
A few hours after, a co worker who is in the admin office called Fonzy and asked him whether he would join them for lunch out and he said he would and would bring us with them too. Soon they talked where to eat and what time we would go. He did not even ask money from us and just went, which I liked also. Free food is even better!
We went tot he restaurant at 11:30, we had to travel for 10 minutes to reach the destination and since there will be 21 of us, they used two vehicles; one van and Fonzy's personal car.
I got very excited whe we arrived at the restaurant; two of my colleagues were hyped to take a picture outside the restaurant and since I was the one around with a ready camera, I took thier picture and sent to them later.
The staffs arranged a very long table for us by connecting the the tables in a very long line. We are the ones who were at the edge and just waited for food to arrive since we could not escape our seats nor even just stand
Everyone got busy taking selfies for remembrance of our unexpected year-end bonding and then soon prepared sauces as the staffs gave us saucers and condiments.
They even gave us salted fish which Paula joked it will be our viand but it turend out no one had paid attention on it after we recieved our food.
Soon the food came, first the rice, vegetables, pancit, tuna soup, grilled tuna and tuna meat balls, as well as tuna sisig. Everything looksed delicious, and we were drooling while waiting for the signal that everything is ready to eat.
I honestly thiught that the food would not be enough at first but to my surprise, the food was even too much! Everyone was too full and then Girly said to finish everything and so did we even if our pants were too tight already
To my surprise, dessert was served a little later and it was the delicious halo-halo that I was dreaming of having when I saw their poster about it
I was already full so I enjoyed my halohalo slowly, It was very delectable and it was even more enjoyable because of the celebration we had. A full year we renedered at work is never easy, in fact it was very stressful and it is jutlst worth celebrating.
Soon the bill was given and when I asked, Fonzy said he paid almost ten thousand pesos for the food and most of the payment came from his personal account and we were very thankful for what he had done.
We all had so much fun with our little celebration! Afterall, it was a very productive year for us all. Cheers to the following years we are going to go through together.
