Good day, Hiveans! You probably have eaten a fruit jello some time in your life. But have you ever wonder how to make it?

Last new year's eve celebration, I opted for a healthier cake and made myself my own fruit jello cake! I attempted to make one when I was new to my business and it didn't come out perfect. Now, I just did!
Fruit Jello Cake

Fruit Jello Cake is basically slices of fruits held together by gelatin and molded into a certain shape based on the mold you use. You can use small cups for individual servings and takeaways or put it on a bigger mold for a more aesthetic look.
What's fun with making your own fruit jello is that you can choose what fruits to add and what fruit juice to use for your jello. And for a little info, gelatin is derived from animal bones and promotes collagen in our bodies.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 Cups Apple Juice
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. White Sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Unflavored Gelatin Powder
- 1/3 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
- 1 1/2 Mango (diced)
- Seedless Grapes (halved)
- Cherries
Containers:
(1) 5 Inches Round Pan
(1) 4 Inches Round Pan
PROCEDURE:
• Prepare the fruits and set aside.

• On a small pot, put the apple juice, sugar, and lemon juice.

This is the apple juice I used. You can use other fruit juice depending on your preference.

• Place on the stove and set the stove to medium heat. Add the gelatin powder as soon as you switch the stove and stir continuously until the gelatin has melted.

Take the pot off the stove when the juice becomes warm. Don't boil.
• Pour a thin layer into the pans and add the first layer of fruits. Then pour more of the apple juice mixture before layering fruits again. Continue building until you are satisfied with the thickness of your cake. (Make sure there is still enough apple juice to submerge the last layer of the fruits.)

• Cover or use a cling wrap to cover the pan and place inside the fridge overnight or one whole day before unmolding.

Unmolding!

Okay, moment of truth! Unmolding gelatin is difficult unlike unmolding agar. You will have to need the help of hot water.
On a bigger pan (I used a 6 inches round pan), pour hot water reaching about a quarter of the pan. Then submerge the pan with the fruit jello for just 3 to 5 seconds before trying to unmold it. Try to submerge again if it still doesn't slide out of the pan. Just make sure not to submerge the jello into the hot water for too long or for many times, else, the jello will melt.

This is the 4 inches fruit jello, by the way. :)
A Fancy-Looking Fruit Dessert!

Making fruit jello cake is just that easy! I used to purchase one for the holidays which costed over a thousand peso but now I'm making it myself after finally getting it right. It costs less and I can even make more fruit jello.
Well, I know not everyone likes the texture of jello because I'm one of them before. Lol. But doing business with gelatin and agar ingredients got me used to it and appreciate these foods.
If you want something guilt-free and fancy-looking at the same time, a fruit jello cake is surely a good choice.
Thank you! :D
