How do you like your rice? Plain? Fried rice?
Well, either way is good! For me, I prefer fried rice for breakfast and plain rice for dinner. I believe we all have our own versions and preferences for fried rice. And for today's post, I am going to share how I make my easy fried rice.
Straykat's Egg & Garlic Fried Rice

Ever since I started cooking my own food, I learned to like garlic more. And when it comes to making fried rice, I like mine garlicky and buttery. The best fried rice for me is with egg but sometimes I omit the egg when I already have fried egg on my meal. But as much as possible, I'd like to have egg mixed on it.
However, my favorite fried rice is my mama's version. One of my friends even can't forget how good it was as she would bring it up in our conversation occasionally whenever we meet up. I tried to replicate it but the fried rice I make will never be on par with my mama's fried rice. It's sad that I never got to ask for the ingredients. But I see her adding soy sauce in it and flavor enhancer, a.k.a. msg. In my own version, I no longer use msg and stick with the usual salt and pepper. I also don't use soy sauce often especially when I want it simple.
So here's how I make my simple egg & garlic fried rice:
Here's What You'll Need
✅️ 1 Bulb Garlic (Diced)
✅️ 1 to 1 ½ Tbsp. Butter
✅️ 1 Cup Uncooked Rice
✅️ 1 Egg
✅️ ½ Tsp. Salt
✅️ ½ Tsp. Ground Black or White Pepper
✅️ 3g or 1 Sachet of Garlic Powder
Let's Begin Cooking!
#1 Cook the rice and put in the fridge overnight or you can le@t it rest for at least an hour before making it into fried rice.
#2 Set the stove's heat to medium and wait for the pan to warm up. Then add the butter and diced garlic. Fry the garlic and bring down the temperature to low when the garlic begins to turn golden brown.
#3 Push all the garlic on one side and crack the egg on the opposite side. You can also add more butter before cracking the egg if you want.
#4 Allow the bottom of the egg to solidify a bit before mixing it into a scrambled egg.
#5 Continue mixing while chopping it into tiny pieces until the egg has completely turned into scrambled egg.
#6 Add the rice, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Then mix.
This is the garlic powder I used. More garlic, the better!!! And remember that you can also add more butter if you think the rice is too dry.
#7 Continue mixing until all ingredients are combined, no lumps of rice visible, and every grain is coated with butter as much as possible. If you can no longer see a white grain of rice, you're done and it's time to eat!
The Best Rice for Breakfast is Fried Rice!

The smell of butter and garlic on rice is just so good in the morning, don't you agree? Especially when you're viand is spam, sausage, fried fish, sunny side up, longganisa, hotdog, etc. To make your day great, you have to start it with a good food!
Sometimes, I also add some frozen vegetables: carrot, corn kernels, and green peas. This one also has soy sauce in it. Before, I used to add chicken oil, turmeric powder, and sesame oil. It was overloaded with seasoning. Lol. Now, I settled with only simple ingredients and I'm still happy with it. I can taste the garlic and butter better as well.
