When my cousin visits home to rest for a few days, he requests to cook the dish he saw online for our dinner, and I said yes because why not? The dish looks good and I am craving a creamy dish that day, my family goes to the grocery store and buys all the ingredients I listed down, all the things they need to buy.
The dish is called Creamy Chicken and Mixed Veggies, and my cousin wanted to add extra, so he bought mushrooms as filler for the dish. It is a simple dish, all you need to do is fry the chicken and saute the veggies in butter for extra fragrance to the dish, and then simmer it in cream for another filler. We should add quail eggs, but they didn't find any in the store, so we just use eggs.
Ingredients I Used:
- 1 Kilo Chicken Thigh
- 1 tbsp Fish Sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
- 5 Boiled Egg
- Half Cup of Cooking Oil
- Frozen Mixed Vegetables
- 1 tbsp Butter Unsalted
- 100g Pre-Cut Mushrooms
- 6 Cloves of Garlic
- 1/2 a tsp of Rock Salt
- 250 ml All Purpose Cream
- 250 ml water
- 1 Chicken Broth Cube
Prepping The Ingredients!
Using a fork, I poke the chicken every part of it. This helps the flavor seep into the chicken when I marinate it.
I added 1 tablespoon of fish sauce to the chicken.
After that, I added 1 tsp of ground pepper. And massage all the condiments and spices to coat the chicken evenly and set it aside for about 10 minutes.
While the chicken is marinating, I boiled the egg for about 8-11 minutes and peff of the shell and I set it aside.
Cooking Time!
I added half a cup of cooking oil to the hot pan.
After that, I added the marinated chicken to the hot oil.
Fry it until it turns golden brown or when completely cooked. And then I set the cooked chicken aside for later.
Next, in a clean pan, I added about a tablespoon of the oil I used from frying the chicken.
And then I added this mix of vegetables: carrots, peas, and corn.
And then I added about a tablespoon of butter.
And then I added the pre-cut mushroom and let it sauté for about a minute.
Then I added the garlic and red onion.
I added a half teaspoon of rock salt into the veggies.
Then I added a half teaspoon of ground pepper.
Then I added 250 ml of all-purpose cream.
After that, I used the same carton box of cream to add the water. By the way, I added another 250ml of water.
To make the dish savory, I added a cube of chicken broth.
Then I added the fried chicken to the pan.
After that, I let it cook for about 15 minutes or until the sauce thickens. By the way, use low heat only.
Plate it and serve hot. I garnish it with dried parsley, it is optional for photo purposes only LOL.
