Good day hivers of this amazing Aseanhive community. Today I'm going to share you a recipe that is my viand a year ago or what I mean, the last time I ate this was one year ago. This is a very simple recipe and vegetable lovers can relate this food. Today I will be showing a noodle soup with vegetable and fermented fish with tomato sauce.

This is the sponge gourd but locally we called it sikwa in our own dialect. This is a vine that crawls everywhere. We have a plant like this in our backyard in my hometown but it's better to have this in the kitchen part of the house because the smoke helps this plant to have lots of flowers. This has a good smell and if it is overripe, this is use as a body mesh.

Then this one is the sardines. There are lots of brands and sizes of a sardines but this brand is cheaper or the taste is worth the price. There actually lots of cheaper ones but I don't like its tastes. This is a fermented fish with tomato sauce.

Then the onion and garlic which is the main spices to every fried recipe

Misua is also known as wheat vermicelli, it is a very thin variety of salted noodles made from wheat flour.
This is the cheapest noodle in the market and it's so brittle but it's okay to break because actually when you put it on the soup you need to break it too. There is also a yellow variation for this.

I remove the green peel of it and then sliced it accordingly. I prefer to have thinner slices so it's easy to cook.

When everything is ready I just open the stove and hey ready the pan, then fry the onion and garlic.

Then when it's boiled add the noodle and the vegetable and let it boil for 3 to 5 minutes in a medium heat.

Then it is ready to serve. It's best eaten during hot or after it was cooked because the soup in it will gradually sip by the noodles causing it to look dry for several hours.
This recipe is pretty much simple and common especially in the rural areas who loves vegetables. My mother always say that eating can goods is not good at health that's why I always cook processed foods with vegetables.
By the way that's all for today hivers. Have a great day ahead!

👍 looks delicious!!.. This plant is quite similar to one we have here, it has a sweet taste and can be used in many dishes. We also use its fibers as a natural body scrub.
Thanks for sharing. 🤗❤️😍

Hehe I think we are referring to the same vegetable😊 it grows faster and it has yellow flowers

Wow, simple and yummy! That vegetable is called 'patola' in our dialect. That recipe is very common in my place. Happy cooking! Hope to see more blogs from you. Have a great day!

Yes it's the easiest hehe. I see it's patola, I think it's Tagalog. In our dialect we called it sikwa

Oh,I see! Yes, 'patola' is tagalog. Is 'sikwa' Bisaya? Another word added to my vocabulary. Thanks to you.

Yes sikwa is bisaya hehe

Woah! This is my favorite and my children's too @krissymayol! It's like they never miss to request for this one every month. I can't help but get to have extra serving of rice when I have this dish. I love I get to finally see this here. Great post! Happy weekend to you and family!

Thank you so much. I never knew that there are lot's of hivers like this recipe😍 I was able to cook because our neighbor gave me one!

Oh my goodness, this is one of my favorites and one of my comfort foods. It's just difficult to find good sardines here, so I have to go to Asian stores just to buy our very own Philippine-made sardines. Take care always🙂

Wow it's good to hear this is one of your favorites. It's the cheapest and fastest noodle to cook in the countryside. Mega sardines is the best sardines but it's quite expensive than Young's town

The noodle looks so yummy.

Thank you. It is the cheapest noodle in the market hehe

Thank you for sharing the recipe of such a delicious meal.

You are welcome❤

A different version to eat sardines, I have always eaten them stewed with spaghetti and as an antipasto. Thank you for sharing this innovative way of cooking. Best regards.

I can tell this recipe holds a lot of memories for you. Sikwa, misua, and sardines in tomato sauce, such a humble but flavorful dish. Simple and budget friendly.

It's my childhood memories. We plant we harvest and we cook this recipe hehe

That's so nice! Food always tastes better when it's something you grew up with.

Thanks for posting in the ASEAN Hive Community.
