Notice that there is a "nG" at the end of that word, not a "mP" and this is not a typo on my part. Whether Trump or Trung came first in this part of town is anyone's guess. Judging by the state of the furniture I would say that this place has probably been in operation since before 2016.
I had noticed this for a while now and I do not know if the owners are trying to capture on the name recognition of the US President or if it is just a coincidence that someone else's name is slightly similar. One thing is for sure though, this place didn't really have the attracting of foreigners in mind when they built it. This is a very Vietnamese style eatery.

This is one of those places that I think you should experience at some point while you are in Vietnam, even if you end up not really liking it in the end. These are places I like to refer to as "high turnover but cheap" restaurants and it doesn't seem like the people who work here or the owners try to much to focus on the place looking nice. They just want to get you in, get you to eat, and get you out to make room for the next guy.

Unless I missed something, there wasn't a whole lot of catering to the English language going on here either. I never saw the menu though because I was here with some of my very few Vietnamese friends.
I find it a bit amusing that we were there a bit after the lunch rush and there were dishes all over the place waiting to be washed. I commented multiple times that I wouldn't want to be the dishwasher there because man oh man, you would never get caught up.

So here is now Donald Trung's works: You get given a bunch of ingredients and some rice paper and you wrap them up yourselves and make some sort of makeshift "spring rolls" and that basically seems to be the end of it. They have a variety of sauces that you can put on it and I guess it was tasty? I think it was rather mid but after 20 years of living in South East Asia I can say that I am well and truly bored with anything spring roll oriented. You can only have but so many of them before the presence of them doesn't really do anything for you anymore.
but there was one very big plus of this place

Just like a lot of places in this city, the staff had zero issues with me bringing Nadi in to dine with us.
She is such a good doggie though. She just stayed on her chair and patiently waited for me to give her a piece now and then. She didn't beg from other people, she didn't put her face on the table, and she didn't jump down to the floor. She just sat there and waited to see if we were going to let her have any of it. But let's be real here, after more than 10 years of living with me I think Nadi knows that she is almost certainly going to get some of it.
Since it was not a buffet the staff didn't care that we were feeding the dog.
Now in the end I don't know how much it was because we sorted out the bill rather quickly and then left with the same speed but I do know that it wasn't much.

Would I go there again? Well, if someone told me that they were going I would probably join in, but it wasn't really good enough for me to initiate the process of doing so. It was just, fine. Nadi was a big fan of it though, I'll tell you that much.
If you are in Da Nang there are a lot of better places to eat than here but it was super cheap and one of the locations is located pretty near the tourist part of town where you are very certain to be staying anyway. Plus, who knows, maybe you'll get to meet a really cute and well-behaved dog while you are in there!
