Hello everyone! After several days of hard work in our rice field, we finally finished drying our harvested palay. As a farmer’s family, this moment always brings me happiness and relief. Seeing the grains properly dried and ready to be processed so they can become rice for our home reminds me why we continue working hard in the farm.
Farming is not easy. The sun is hot, the work is heavy, and sometimes the body gets very tired. Tired as always! But when the harvest turns out well, all the effort suddenly feels worth it.
That afternoon, after checking the palay we dried, I went home feeling both happy and exhausted. My body was already asking for rest. I sat for a while and looked at the kids playing outside of the house of my father in law. Like most children, they were already asking what we could eat for snacks.

Because I was in a good mood from the harvest, I thought of cooking something simple for the family. I decided we would have spaghetti. But honestly, my arms were already tired from all the farm work, so instead of cooking it myself, I called my niece and asked him to help me prepare it. I guided her while she did most of the cooking.
We decided to make spaghetti salad, something light and perfect for the evening.

Ingredients we used:
1 pack spaghetti pasta
Spaghetti sauce
Condensed milk
All purpose cream
Catsup
Cheese
Onion and garlic
Corn beef
Hotdog
Salt and oil for boiling the pasta

How we prepared it:
First, I boiled water and added a little salt. Then Icooked the spaghetti pasta until it was soft. After draining the pasta, I let it cool down first.
After that, I placed the pasta in a big bowl. Then my niece sauteed onion and garlic in a pan and add a condensed milk to make it creamy and slightly sweet. Then we mixed with catsup and spag sauce with cheese cubes. We slowly mixed everything together until the ingredients were well combined.
While watching her prepare it, I realized something. Even though I was very tired from the farm, moments like this with family make the day lighter.

In our home, spaghetti is always a favorite, especially for the kids. When they saw the bowl of spaghetti salad ready on the table, they quickly gathered around.

That simple merienda reminded me that after every harvest and every tiring day, small family moments like sharing food together are the real rewards of farm life.
