This is cincang, it is one of minang cuiside or padang cuisine. I think I have made a post about it in the past, but I could not recall it. Cincang is actually a chopped meat in curry, that's name however that is not what it is actually.
The real cinciang is a fat stew in curry flavor. Yes fat, not meat. Cincang is made from fat, tendon, and skins, stewed together in curry flavor. So it is actually a dish that I must not eat, regarding it can trigger my autoimmune too.
If I am in my early 20 eating cincang should not be an issue. But why I still order cincang despite knowing I must avoid it...
Sometime I do that on impulse... When I stand at the counter and the server ask me what my order is, sometime I get confused. I forget what I want to eat because I keep looking around for each menu. There are dish that look bad, there are some intersting dishes but I have limited budget, and many thought lingering on my head.
In the end, I just pick Cincang. Because I do not want to have my hand dirty, I eat cincang using fork and spoon not directly with my hand.
Anyway this is my order, and I like this place because the tea is free. Atleast I have to fight all those saturated fat and cholesterol in that cincang with this tea lol.
A typical of padang cuisine that you will have your rice with some grated coconut and some cassava leaves. You usually will be asked to eat with your hands in Padang rice hut, but you can ask for a spoon there.
Final shot, this is the close up for part of the cincang. I believe this is pure fat, a beef fat that something you find near sirloin cut. It taste great but you know well there will be an after effect later or tomorrow when you wake up from your night sleep lol.
I do not think this is a guilty pleasure, but it is more like my bad habit ordering food that I have to avoid. So what do you think? Have you tried Cincang before? OR maybe there is similar food or dish like this from your country? feel free to share them in my comment section.
