I came to a Japanese resto in order to get some warm udon. Udon is a japanese thick chewy wheat flour noodle, so people prefer Ramen over this Udon, but for me both are great.
Well, the photo above was Kake Udon, or plain Udon if you translate it to English and that was not the Udon I order. The udon I like most was Tempura Udon and I was ordering Tempura Udon that day.
Anyway Tempura is a Japanese dish, usually seafood and vegetables deep fried with a coat of light crispy batter / dough. However most people here think Tempura is a deep fried Shrimp coated with crispy batter. Let's not debate about it, both are fine.

Ok this was my Tempura Udon.
And this one was the same but viewed from different angle.
I am not a good photographer, so I want to ask your opinion, which angle are better for a blog post like this? The 45 degree angle or the helicopter view? I will give you something in return for any advice about this one.
I poured in the batter and the shrimp into my bow. and this point I believe you can figure out what thought lingers inside my head... Yes the shrimp was tiny one.
So here is the comparison between the bowl, the left over shrimp tail and my left hand or palm. Those are small portions.
Japanese food are like that, they are pricy. So some restaurant sell them in a small portion to make their price looks cheap. I won't blame them from doing this, but definitely I will blame them if their food are bad.
However I have to admit their dishes are great. Yes not good, but it is great. So I have no comment about it.
So I ordered another dish, this was the shrimp salad. It looked nice and smell great. I believed all were fresh, from the vegetables to the tobiko / fish eggs above.
I took another angle, the 45 degree one. From this side you could see that the portion was actually a small one.
Honestly I was irritated by a small drop of sauce there on the saucer below. I wanted to swipe it so it would not bother my pictures, however my friends did not want to give me any tissue. They really wanted to ruin my shots lol.
Same as the Udon, I want some feedback about this picture too. Regardless that annoying drip, which one is better?
Anyway these foods come from a famous Japanese restaurant in Jakarta and they are in hype right now. I paid around $5 for both of them with an extra hot ocha that was free refilled multiple times. I believed I had refilled it more than eight times lol.
