Usually I write a long post here on Asean Hive Community, however this time it is a short one. I am very tired at the moment, today is a long day, well actually the last two days were a bit crazy. So as I write his one, I am in a borderline between being healthy and not well.
Today I want to share a short topic about happy meal or a healthy meal. Sometime we can not have both, maybe because we are not rich enough LoL
So let me share you one of my happy meal, which I had this one a week ago.
I like Nasi Padang a lot, so I always prefer to have them as my lunch during office hour. I can not eat Nasi Padang at home because my mother dislikes it, she is not a local here, she was born and raised in Eastern Asia, the land of pirate and invader.
One of the signature ingredient that she dislikes is the strong coconut flavor. Nasi padang is rich in Coconut milk and strong spicy taste. Both are the things she doesn't like, and she doesn't want to learn to like it regarding the health issue.
Both aren't good actually. Hot peppers are great spices, but if you overeat them, your digestion will be in big trouble. Same as coconut milk, don't let the name "MILK" fools you. Coconut milk is rich in nutrient, however there must be a moderation here because it is mainly build up by saturated fat. So this is the nemesis of people in weight issues and taking coconut milk too much will lead you in heart issue.
In that picture, which was my plate, only two things are healthy for me. The first one was the greenish leaves which was Cassava leaves. It is vital to get or to eat cassava leaves in Nasi Padang because it might be the only thing that is healthy in there.
There was another vegetables there, which was jack fruit curry. One thing that special about jackfruit is that in one dish it is called as fruit, but in another dish it is categorized as vegetables. Unfortunately I can not eat jackfruit due to my stomach condition, so I did not take the picture. It was a mistake by my server, he put jackfruit there so I left it on my plate.
Oh ya, the picture above is grilled egg plant in red chilli paste. I like eggplant especially served like that however there is no standardized egg plant here, sometime they come in big size, sometime very small, sometime you feel the eggplant is not ripped yet.
And that eggplant and cassava leaves were the only two things that were healthy on my plate, of course you could count Rice in later
And my main dish was Tunjang. I like Tunjang A lot but I reazlie I need to limit myself eating this. Tunjang is a part of cow that full of Collagen. There is no specific rule which part is Tunjang in the cow, so let me describe this in English. Tunjang is any part of the cow or beef that full of fat, can be skins, softbones, and a mix of them.
The tunjang I had in that picture was a Skin on the beef foot. It was actually a fat which had high Purine and Cholesterol. Eating this one regularly will bring you closer to our Almighty.
Knowing this is a bad food for health, why did I still order it? The reason is simple, I take food as a recreational activity too, so sometime I eat delicious things that could harm my health for the sake of some piece of happiness.
I do not smoke, I am not a drinker, so I guess food is my only getaway here.
