Hey internet people! How are you? Yesterday I was in a different city than my own, Maracay in Venezuela. I was there because I was accompanying my bosses to a padel tournament, and since I'm their babysitter, I had to go. Anyway, while we were there we got hungry, so as soon as my bosses finished playing and they were waiting for the tournament results, we went to find a good place to eat something tasty and quick. But... the problem is that tasty and quick doesn't exactly mean healthy, right? And I've had problems with fast food; I even got Helicobacter pylori because of it, so that's why I'm on a strict diet. But I won't deny that I really wanted junk food, or "Bala Fría" as we call it in my country.
¡Hola, gente de internet! ¿Cómo están? El día de ayer yo estaba en otra ciudad diferente a la mía, la ciudad de Maracay en Venezuela, estaba allí porque estaba acompañando a mis jefes a un torneo de Pádel, y como soy la niñera de su bebé pues tuve que ir, el caso es que estando allí nos dio hambre así que en cuento terminó la participación de mis jefes y esperaban los resultados del torneo, fuimos a buscar un buen lugar para comer algo rico y rápido, pero.... el problema es que rico y rápido no significa precisamente saludable, ¿cierto? y yo vaya que he tenido problemas con la comida rápida, incluso obtuve Helicobacter Pilori por causa de esto, así que por ese motivo ando en dieta estricta, pero no les voy a negar que sí, se me antojaba mucho la comida chatarra o "Bala Fría" como les decímos en mi país.
So we ended up at "Expresos del Centro Burger," one of those places that offers a wide variety of fast food options. The place was very spacious and welcoming, but we decided to eat on the terrace.
Así llegamos a este lugar "Expresos del Centro Burguer" el cuál es de esos lugares que te ofrecen muchas opciones en comida rápida. El lugar era muy amplio y acogedor pero nosotros decidimos comer en la terraza.
But walking a little further I realized that the place has more outdoor space, they use containers as kitchens, which are very well equipped and in full view of all the diners, the colors they use are very striking, typical of this type of restaurant, and the background music fortunately wasn't as loud as it usually is in some fast food fairs, so I liked that and it made me feel much more comfortable while I waited for my food.
Pero caminando un poco más allá me di cuenta que el lugar cuenta con más espacio al aire libre, usan contenedores a modo de cocina, los cuales están muy bien equipados y a la vista de todos los comensales, los colores que usan son muy llamativos, típicos de este tipo de restaurantes, y la música de ambiente afortunadamente no estaba tan alta como siempre suele suceder en algunas ferias de comida rápida, así que eso me gustó y me hizo sentir mucho más cómoda mientras esperaba mi comida.
I really liked the part we chose because it has those really big umbrellas that are great for sunny days and also for rainy ones (as long as it's not a torrential downpour). For example, that day there was a light drizzle but it didn't bother us.
La parte que nosotros elegimos me gustó mucho porque cuenta con paraguas de esos muy grandes que vienen de maravilla para los días soleados y también para los lluviosos (siempre y cuando no sea una lluvia torrencial) Por ejemplo ese día estaba cayendo una tenue llovizna pero a nosotros no nos molestó.
Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to hot dogs in their Venezuelan version. The one in the first picture is mine, and the one in the second is my boss and friend's. Hot dogs in Venezuela are more than just sausages, bread, and sauces. They contain cabbage, tiny French fries that give them a delicious crunch, and depending on how you order them, they may or may not include eggs, ham, cheese, sweetcorn kernels, and a wide variety of sauces in all flavors, in addition to the traditional mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. They also include garlic sauce, cheese sauce, tartar sauce, corn sauce, and more.
Señoras y señores permítanme presentarles los perros calientes en su versión venezolana, el de la primera imagen es el mío y el de la segunda es el de mi jefa y amiga. Los perros calientes en Venezuela son más que salchichas, pan y salsas, contienen repollo (col) papas fritas, de esas que son diminutas y le dan un toque crocante delicioso y dependiendo de como los ordenes pueden contener o no huevos, jamón, queso, granos de maíz dulce y una gran gama de salsas de todos los sabores además de las tradicionales mayonesa, salsa de tomate y mostaza, contienen salsas de ajo, de queso, tártara, de maiz etc..
And along with the order comes a nice glass of papelón con limón, a sweet and delicious drink we have in Venezuela, very effective for combating the heat and let's just say it's a bit healthier than fizzy soda 😋
Y junto con la orden viene un buen vaso de papelón con limón que es una bebida dulce y deliciosa que tenemos en Venezuela, muy efectiva para combatir el calor y digamos que es un poco más saludable que el refresco con gas 😋
