RE: Gathering the Spell Supplies of Spring

in HerbLore25 days ago

Wow, it's great that someone here is writing about poppies, or Papaver sominiferum, the famous opium poppy.

I also bought seeds this year, but I think I planted them at the wrong time because they all germinated but died within days. When did you plant yours? Here in Argentina, is it in March? They seem to like the cold.

I have the exact same idea of starting a magical garden of medicinal plants. I already have cannabis and Ipomoea violacea. I had a San Pedro cactus, but it didn't thrive. In 2026, my partner and I want to start cultivating Psilocybe mushrooms.

I love everything you wrote here and that you and your partner are growing such magical herbs. Best of luck to you!!

Okay so with the poppy flowers I think March is a great time of year to plant them in Argentina. But, you might need to put them in the freezer for a couple of days before planting them. Where I live (in the mountains) it gets cold enough for them to germinate on their own and I sprinkle a lot of poppy seeds each year at the end of fall. Not all of them make it.

I think the key is to plant them where you want them to grow, water them often once you see they are sprouting and never transplant them. They almost always die if I try to move them, even when they are small.

I would love to read about your magical/medicinal garden, tag me if you ever do share about it.

Saludos y buena suerte Brujo!!

Oh, thank you! I love all the content you share ❤️ It's made with so much love, and it shows.

What a great tip about putting the seeds in the freezer! 🤯 I didn't know that, thanks, alchemist. I'm glad to learn.

Yes, as soon as I make a post about the garden, I'll let you know. For now, I'm sending you these cards from the Magical Botanical Oracle.

Gracias Calendula , que tengas un hermoso finde
