I'm so glad this post inspired you in that way. I can give you two recommendations:
Start with intermittent fasting, which can be 16 hours. For example, you eat breakfast at 10 a.m. and have your last meal at 6 p.m. From then on, nothing else until 10 a.m. the next day. Do this every day.
Do the 36-hour fast, since you mentioned that you wanted to go a day without eating. You can have dinner one day, then eat nothing the next day, until breakfast on the third day.
I think that's the most “forceful” way to start. I hope you'll let me know how it goes. 👍
