I had a great talk with @meno about it, and am slowly, but steadily working on using that approach of money transfer to implement in my community. There is a huge potential in the idea, especially as a local currency. Many ideas are floating in my head, but I have to start slow.

And yes, I had the same questions - will this idea leech on HIVE? Meno explained to me why not, as well as he could given that I'm not a crypto-wizard, either. I'm getting into it for a year now, so there's still much to learn. Hence, thank you for sharing that video, I will watch that very closely and include it into my on-boarding-methods.
