I was always a big fan of concept albums. Where you don't skip a beat, one song ties into the next. The last one that I enjoyed was Greenday's "American Idiot", and in a way The Killers' "Sam's Town".
Sia is a great example for your post. She's an incredible singer, and even more amazing songwriter. The art of her videos is a different scale, especially the ones with Madison Ziegler. Her works are just not pop music, it's art, and it does include everything that is acting.
Acting is an art. Both in the appraised way, as in daily life. Those who act best go further within their peer of similar skills. And that includes the "action" acting, the actually doing things. If you can motivate yourself to actually get up and act, you'll have more success. But if on top of that, and I write that grinding my teeth, you can also act and adapt to the circumstances, act in the sense of faking - you'll have even more success.
It's not the generation. Other generations just learned to act differently. They weren't more healthy in that. Some people out of every generation manage to get out of the act, and be themselves. But it has never been the masses, I'm pretty sure of that.
