Why is the word "I'm sorry" so hard for some people to say. Should we call it pride or as simple as it is, it's just so hard for some people.

Imagine someone saying she doesn't know how to say she is sorry because she has never felt sorry for anything.

A real apology requires humility and some individuals just can’t do that. Sometimes pride gets in the way, and sometimes it just looks like they are too arrogant to admit that they are wrong. Apologizing [for mistakes] doesn’t show weakness. If anything it showed maturity and respect for their prey.

Thank you so much for adding light to this.
Happy Friday 😊

Happy Friday to you too. Thank you

That is just so bad... Like, she doesn't know how to say Sorry? Meaning all what she does is correct, she has always been right and never felt sorry for anything.
Well, those kind of people are not the type to relate with, just keep your distance. I don't know if it is pride...

...but honestly it is very hard for some people to say. I have a friend like that though, but even though we don't say sorry to each other, the kind of ways we usually settle things can be considered an apology too. None of us has ever said sorry to each other for the past 5 to 6..

Wow

Yeah

..years that we've known each other. Sh either comes to me in church, online or anywhere we meet and playfully appreciate me or say something funny, that's how I'd too, and like that whatever issue or misunderstanding is settled and we continue to be our normal selfs...

Sorry is like very easy.
I can't was for malice to start before I will apologise never.
Whether I'm wrong or not I can easily say sorry and that's thanks to my dad.

But if I refuse to say sorry especially when I'm not wrong it's because the person stupidity has gotten out of hand, and I need him/her to understand and admit their wrongs.

I very well understand that.
That is so meee, people are starting to complain about it sef... They will be like, any small thing you've said sorry, any small thing you've said thank you...

It is well with some people Sha.

I offended my boss at work.
This woman said a lot of things to me that day.
I was just saying I'm sorry ma until she ask me to leave.

She came back later to apologise and explained she didn't mean everything she said. It was all out of anger and because she was pissed.

My point is, if I had approached with anger too the matter would have escalate.

Exactly...
Like, you would have continued to drag it and might have turned enemies by now. Reminds me of a fellow corp member who shouted at me some months back, and me as the president, I know what I can do, I just decided to keep my calm. A lot of people were expecting me to...

To call my LGI and report her, because honestly she was at fault. But I did not. I told her thank you for disrespecting me and our group in public, and sorry for asking you to handle this thing. It won't happen again... The second day she came to me DM to apologize...

And she added that she wasn't expecting that calmness from me, even though she knew I'm gentle, but what she did could have triggered something in me. But then, we were in a school and I just need to handle it the best way...

It's all pride. Nothing more, they just feel they're to special, and above your level, so why would say "I'm sorry" to someone they feel looks less than them? Pride is just eating sure people up.

That's really bad.
Immediately she said that I just excused myself because I simply have no business with someone with that mindset.

You did the right thing. I wonder why some people let pride ride them.

🙂

So-called ego is the cluprit behind it. Tho saying sorry solves 90% of the problems

Yeah my mum would say "sorry can cook a stone."
What baffles me more is that, as simple as the word is it's hard for some people to say.😣

Nice looking

Thank you 😊☺️

And that's something you shouldn't ignore.

Sometimes, the answers we look for about people are right in front of us. Not until she wounds you deeply and claims she feels nothing.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
I was surprised 😨 too. I didn't even say anything or try to make her see where she is getting it wrong. I just walk away cause I couldn't deal with her mindset. It is well.

Honestly, this is something I can very much relate to.
I'm someone who knows when I'm right but simply misunderstood or in the wrong and then, bring myself to apologise.
But I've also had cases when I found it hard to verbally render an apology, but rather do so through my actions. By being remorseful, I mean.

I'm still working on that 🙂.

I understand right.
And please try and work towards that.☺️

I'm on ittttt! 🤭🙂🙃

It's so annoying for people to claim right when they are supposed to say the least sorry. Maybe it's pride, maybe they are not raised well... All the same.. people should learn it

Yeah they really need to work on that.
Thank you 👍

Many people feel sorry but they grew up in homes where apologies were never made, so they learned same.

However, someone who says they don't feel sorry for anything might have a deeper problem that should be checked. Do you know if she feels other emotions?

I don't know anything about her.
She is a friend to my friend and we happened to meet at a gathering. She did something wrong and I ask her why she didn't apologise knowing fully well that she was wrong. she said she doesn't have a Reason to.

I just carry my bag jeje 😅😅 and I moved to the next table.

Oh, I understand now. I'm glad you questioned her because your curiosity just led to you knowing some people are really different.

You did the best thing by leaving too. Good morning and hope you're having a good Saturday?

Yes o finally went for an owambe party in a long time.☺️☺️

Oh, that sounds great! Please enjoy the party.
