I think the Hive economy will be better for it, thank you

Sort:

For hive economy, we have to stop funding for front-end developments or cut down on it. See here, as an indie developer, I was able to deliver so much with just the passion for Hive.

DHF, self-voting (burn posts) are also hurting hive economy.

I don't know - just sharing my opinion & open to correct it.
Thinking out loud & talking to someone.

What's your view? of course, share only if you want to & only if you've time.

I agree with you that the problem exists on every level and the whales hurt us the most, because they have the most to sell. I also think the frontends should be finding ways for their projects to self-fund, rather than continually eating up the DHF.

I'm building front-end without DHF. That puts me into different category compare to what top-10s have done, don't you think?

Did Liketu, Travelfeed, InLeo or Waivio get DHF funding? I don't believe so. Actifit had a little funding, but not close to all they've put into it.

Yes & most of them become zombie ware because of this biased support

But, even thought the whales are taking the most, they are also providing something that the redfish aren't. I'm certainly NOT bringing anything meaningful to Hive, other than trying to be responsible

I'm doing my best as a redfish

but because I ain't whale or funded, everything I produce, my motive is questioned.

Few from top ten whales tell me go get a job at wendy's

I guess as long as you are doing what you love, but why build something we already have 10 of? Why not something totally brand new?

In my eyes, I'm brand new. I'm learning daily, building daily, getting feedback.
My development is feedback driven. I keep looking for feedback.
I'm building the front-end the way I envision by gathering the feedback.
Do you know that videos uploaded via hivesuite app - I've dedicated my own video encoder nodes.
I've at least - many different API servers running on my own - hive-inbox, polls api, video encoder apis, graphql node, hive witness node. I'm setting up infra on my own, as much as possible. I also once attempted to run hive-api node but it was too expensive.

See, in past, people on top have done this - as soon as funding stops - they pull the plug.
What if Ecency & peakd decides to stop everything as soon as funding stops?

What's your answer to that?
