Or is the boy worth 2 and the cake 3? So him holding 2 ice creams would be worth 10?

5 + (x + 8) * 4 = y
5 = (4 * x = 4x, 4 * 8 = 32) = y
5 + 4x + 32 = y
(5 + 32) + 4x = y
4x + 37 = y
