I've not used Windows on my own PC for years. It seems Microsoft want you to get a new one to run Windows 11, but #Linux will run fine on most hardware. It's free and may do all you need.

Sort:

That is untrue, they want TPM 2.0 and almost every CPU that have been released in the last 5 years support TPM 2.0

My PC is 11 years old :) A lot of people have old computers that are very usable.

Depends on your definition of very usable.

I don't mean playing the latest games. I'm not a gamer anyway. People just do not necessarily need a new PC even if they are told they do. That's a lot of hardware that could be junked. People may not need Windows anyway. All cases are different.

Games are not the only thing that requires more resources, coding running AI models list can go on. Most people do need to upgrade their PC if it is decade old. Claiming that most people don't is just delusional.

As I said, it depends. As with Hive folk need to know there are options.

I think how they're indirectly forcing users to have windows 11 seems suss to say the least. Linux has much desired flexibility as an OS.
