How come other people know and you don't? The sky doesn't give you signs?

It was sunny when I stepped out 30 minutes earlier, and forecast to rain several hours later. I did start heading home when I looked up and realized the sky was telling me I had minutes ... but I was too far from home to make it before getting wet.
