Why is ontology important?

As you know, ontology is a branch of philosophy that studies existence, reality, and what it means for something to be real. It is important because it helps us understand what actually exists in the world around us. By defining what is real, ontology gives us a foundation for science, helps computers and AI organize information, and allows us to have clearer conversations without confusing different ideas. Without ontology, it would be hard for us to prove facts or agree on what is true in life. Therefore, it plays a big role in helping us make sense of both physical objects and abstract concepts in our daily lives.
