Pope Francis has been very ill ... so he made a final effort this weekend to do all the good he could. That included trying to get through to JD Vance.
I know you are probably on the money. I guess, the optics bother me, but what can you do?
I will tell you this much. I'm seeing MAGA crazies celebrating. They care calling Pope Francis the devil. Why? Well, from what I can gather, they don't like that he wanted peace.
Key term: crazies. Anti-Catholicism has a long bigoted root in their movement, too -- anti-anything but their limited understanding of ANYTHING. They don't like that he stood up for peace, and that the Catholic Church is independent of their will.
