upon checking out the group chat I created it seems that a general chat is the only option. It would be nice to have a private chat option, the ability to mute if there's issues and an approval process if we want to vet interested users
I created a group chat to test the feature and added you. Seems to have set up just fine, but need to see what's available and use it for more info
