The party of public demonstrations suddenly decided protests on public property were "insurrection" on January 6th, 2020. Now the party of gun rights condemns a man for having a holstered gun while filming a protest. If it weren't for double standards, they'd have none at all.

US BS is bad, but I don't see any viable alternatives. Australia has its own issues, Europe is a mess, and South America looks generally risky. Africa is a mess of leftover European colonialism and domestic authoritarianism. Southeast Asia would be one hell of a culture shock.
Over here the Southern Poverty Law Center tends to label anyone to the right of Hillary Clinton as a racist neo-Confederate hatemonger by default.
