To conclude Part 1 of Chapter 1, which is about Baxter's presupposition about a man who needs saving grace, the author gave us the 20th direction.

Stop thinking you can do it all on your own or that you’ve "earned" your way. Instead, put your full trust in Jesus—let him be your leader, your source of life, your rescuer, and your representative before God.
This direction negatively teaches us to renounce the conceit of self-sufficiency and our merit. And positively, it tells us to wholly rely on Jesus rather than our own efforts.
