So today at the hospital I came across a child who picked up buns from someone's bag.
And instead of her mother to caution her she just says that's children that's how they do.
For real 😔.
Parenting has really changed oh.
Because in my own day's my mother's side eye will correct your brain immediately.

Huhm,I wouldn't want to generalize it though. The parents of such a child are already making a mistake with the childs upbringings, I pray it's not to late by the time they feel the need to start cautioning her...

... generalize it because I can say I'm of the Gen z generation too. But I wouldn't raise my own child like that, and I know of some other young parents who wouldn't take that from their kids.
Some parents are very nonchalant when it comes to their children and it's very bad.
Find the ways to bring awareness to the right behaviors is the key to engage people in this new world.

Barely 5 hours ago, I saw a video on tiktok about a young woman lamenting on the so-called gentle parenting and her bitter experience with it, which is quite similar to what you shared.
And that line of "that's just how they do" seems to be the rehearsed words by most parents in situations where they ought to caution their kids. So disappointing.

It's such a bad habit. It means the parent is carefree, which is a bad quality when it comes to raising children. But I'll argue that this isn't peculiar to Gen-Zs at all.
Didn't you grow up seeing some older parents who cared less about what their kids did? Because I did.

Parenting has really changed, honestly. I can't imagine doing such thing in the presence of my mom, even as I'm old like this. The discipline is still there.
