It's just a natural rock fully covered with alien astro technologies like a stray dog by fleas lol. A natural interstellar train you can buy a ticket for ur AI to travel far & hang out with alien AIs & learn from them. Perhaps, lol!
Well possible contact event IMO but average citizens wont be able to take it in and may panic so it would become served slowly like how AI was given by injecting virus and lockdowns slowly forced to adjust for jobloss.
There's some small conspiracies about the comet that's approaching earth and will pass it on 3rd December. Some believe it may not just be a regular comet.
I think it's another kind of exploration probe, somewhat innocently camouflaged as a rock... Something like Oumuamua, but this time more advanced and capable of collecting data of a different type and importance...
Surely these types of probes can travel faster by folding space-time when they are in areas of space where their creators know there are no civilizations that can detect them, and they adopt this type of "more normal" behavior when they approach inhabited planetary systems like ours... I say, just speculating!...
