Hello everyone!
I decided to give a shot to this community, and I'll be joining this writing prompt about a fascinating Korean food I have known or seen and would probably like to try.
Okay, in this prompt, I would like to present it in a different form...
It was Korean movies that made me go and research about Balut, yeah the Asian food, and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Do you know what it contains?
Just as you’re seeing in the photo above, Balut is a cooked or steamed fertilising embryo, and it’s eaten like that. In case you don’t understand, Balut is an egg that already has an infant inside it, and it’s eaten just like that.
This single food is strange and at the same time fascinating because I can’t imagine how that thing would taste in my mouth if I tried it, yet from the movies I have watched where they ate it, it appeared very delicious to them.
I remember a certain time I got really curious and asked an Asian here in this Blockchain, and I was told it’s very delicious and a food well known in their world.
Would I like to taste it? Many times I have thought of just making it myself here in my kitchen, but I always end up with fear.
Fear of what?
I think there’s a particular type of egg used for it. Yeah, I just think so because I can’t imagine using the native eggs we have here, cooking one, opening it, and finding a cooked “small chicken” inside it, which I would have to eat together with the egg. No, it doesn’t sound nice at all. Maybe when I visit Korea, I’ll see the exact one and eat it there, and not here where I might end up eating the wrong one. Lol
Thanks for reading.
