Hello all, hope all of you are doing fine as we start off a new week. In today's sharing, I would like to share a place that is still opened slightly later than dinner hours to allow people like me to still have a nice place to have dinner. My work nature tend to only allow me to have my dinner after almost everyone else. So let's begin today's sharing.
The Place
Sha Xian Delicacies
Address: Woodlands Sq, #01-61 Woods Square, Singapore 737715
Another nice and cozy eatery that is located at a the tower of Woods Square, a neighbourhood office building.
Here's how the place looks like from the inside:
You can from the photo, the interior of the eatery is very well done up and very cozy. I like the interior and the furniture that can be re-arranged easily to suit any group number. The next thing is that the whole place is very clean and cutlery/condiment are all neatly arranged at the serving table for ease of retrieving.
There are ample carpark at the basement of the building so no need to worry if you are driving over.
Now let's get right on the food.
The Food
The place served Chinese food and we ordered our favourites.
- Sauerkraut Fish
- Chilli Boiled Beef
- Spicy Potato Strips
- Wong Lo Kat Herbal Tea

Food was served within 10 minutes and the aroma of the beef exceptionally made me hungrier. And the portion looks really good too
Sauerkraut Fish
One of my favourite Chinese dish and we had this at the previous place that I introduced. Look at the amount of fish given in this dish. For the price of this dish, this amount of fish is unthinkable. Some other places for this dish, after eating 1 or 2 pieces of fish, you will probably have to dig and scoop furiously before you can find another piece of fish. As compared to the previous, the dish is rather well done but the flavours are not as strong as the previous place. I would call it sufficiently flavoured but not something that has taste that erupts in your mouth. I prefer the one at previous place Xin Peng, but my wife prefers the one here. Both are good, but it goes down to the mini details on the flavours to decide who prefers which.
Chilli Boiled Beef
This bowl of goodness is superb! The aroma when it was served was just so good. The dish looks scaringly spicy but I love such spiciness, that I can even take a spoon and drink the soup. The beef tender with every bite with a generous serving of it. Within the bowl, the cabbage, black fungus and dried beancurd skins were plentiful and you can get something everytime you scoop the soup. A well worth dish that is very affordable and guarantees that you feel satisfied and full. A must order if anyone comes visit.
Spicy Potato Strips
A simple side snacker that cost a very small sum but the portion is rather decent for me and my wife. Thoroughly enjoying every bite of it, lightly tangy with the use of white vinegar and mildly spice to stir up your appetite. Very well done and nice dish!
Wong Lo Kat Herbal Tea
I got to know about this drink when I did my exchange in Shanghai many years back and fell in love with this drink. Taste really nice without any bitterness that comes with most herbal tea and very refreshing to drink when chilled.
Overall:
I am thankful for such an eatery available in the neighbourhood. The selling point for this place is the large portion and they never scringe on the ingredients. Environment is nice and cozy with air condition. Price point is fantastic but no compromise on food quality.
