I will cook Cimol. Cimol is a typical Sundanese snack made from starch. Cimol comes from the word aci digemol which means starch flour is formed into balls so that the texture becomes chewy (source: Wikipedia). I will not make the cimol from scratch, but I have bought instant cimol that is ready to cook. Cimol Bojot AA, that is the brand of cimol that I bought, it is currently famous because of its delicious taste.
This cimol contains mozzarella and is seasoned with various flavors. They have five flavors: chicken and onion, balado, barbecue, roasted corn, and spicy and salty. This time, I ordered the spicy and salty.
In one package of instant cimol, there are cimol, salted seasoning, fried onions, lime leaves, and chili powder (to be honest, at first I didn't know that there was chili powder, because it was covered by other things).
How to cook
- Pour oil into the pan, then turn on the stove over low heat
- Place the cimol into a pan filled with oil (make sure the oil is not too hot). Ensure the cimol is submerged in the oil.
- Cook the cimol on low heat for 2 minutes until the cimol turns yellowish.
- Pour the cooked cimol into a container
- Add the seasonings and toppings provided in the packaging according to your taste.
- Stir until evenly mixed, here I just realized that there is chili powder, so I have to stir the cimol again haha
- And the cimol is ready to eat
And let's try it, it's very delicious, very much to my taste. The cimol has a chewy and crunchy texture. With delicious spicy and salty seasoning, especially with the presence of Mozzarella in it makes it even more delicious. Although this is not a Mozzarella that can be pulled, but the Mozzarella is delicious, very suitable to be put into the cimol.
This is so delicious, it makes me want to keep eating it. I think I'll have to order it and cook it again. I can't wait to try different flavors.
