Good morning, and welcome to this new post where I'll show you how I made tequeños, step by step, without too many complications, because they were for breakfast and used few ingredients. This is my version of tequeños, because the typical preparation is more elaborate, and they also use a mixer to make the dough better. Instead, I'm going for a simple dough, water, and salt recipe, without all the fuss. Let's get to the ingredients and instructions.

Ingredientes/Ingredients

- 1 taza de harina de trit
- 1 cucharada de azúcar
- 1/2 cucharada de sal
- 1 cucharada de aceite
- 1/2 de agua
- Queso blanco
- Aceite para freír
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 cup water
- White cheese
- Oil for frying
Preparación/Preparation

Paso 1/Step 1
To prepare the dough, use a flat plate as a container for kneading, and place the flour, salt, and sugar in it. Then mix these ingredients with a spoon, and then make a space in the middle to add the oil and water.

Paso 2/Step 2
Continuing with the preparation of the dough, now with the spoon I mixed from the center, gradually mixing the dry ingredients with the water and oil, until it was well mixed, then I kneaded it with my hands for about 5 minutes and then let it rest for about 10 minutes.

Paso 3/Step 3
Cut the cheese into several sticks. The cheese I'm using is llanero cheese, the one we use in Venezuela for our meals, but mozzarella works too.

Paso 4/Step 4
Once the dough had rested well, I started assembling the tequeños. On another plate, I took a piece of dough and spread it out, making it look like a strip. Then, at one corner, I placed the cheese and rolled the dough around the cheese. I did this with each tequeño. In total, I had enough dough for 12 tequeños.

Paso 5/Step 5
After assembling the tequeños, I heated the oil over medium heat, then I placed each tequeño in the oil to fry until they were golden brown.
