AMERICAN PANCAKES

in Foodies Bee Hive13 days ago

In the morning, while I was at work, I thought:
“Today I deserve something special.”
It wasn’t going to be the usual sandwich or breaded schnitzel with fries.
No, tonight’s dinner had to be something that would make me want to hug myself afterwards.

And so, in my mind, appeared American pancakes (the kind I had in Budapest) those soft, fluffy ones, just like in the movies, where people sit at the kitchen counter, smiling, and somehow no one has a dirty pan or a messy kitchen.

MY RECIPE
First, I gathered all the ingredients and laid them out on the counter:
• 300 g (2 ½ cups) all purpose flour (which I always manage to spill at least a little outside the bowl)
• 12 g (about 1 tbsp) baking powder
• 40–50 g (4–5 tbsp) powdered sugar (depending on how sweet you want your life to be)
• 2 eggs (without shells)
• 350 ml (1 ½ cups) milk
• 180 ml (¾ cup) yogurt
• a pinch of salt
• 1 tbsp vegetable oil
• strawberries for that “healthy” look

METHOD:
I put all the dry ingredients into one bowl and all the wet ingredients into another. (I forgot to picture)🥲
Mixing was done carefully ,I slowly whisked the dry into the wet so there wouldn’t be any lumps.
Well… there were a few, but who’s counting?
I like to call it “rustic texture.”😅

I heated up the pan, added a little oil, and poured the first ladle of batter right in the middle. At this point, I was still full of hope.
I cooked it on medium heat because they say that way it cooks evenly. After two minutes, I noticed the edges were already darker than I planned. When I flipped it, I saw… an artistically burned pattern. I almost named it
“Sunset over a Black Hole or just Black Hole.”😂

The second and third pancakes were a little better, but soon I started rushing and that was a mistake. Some turned out nicely crispy on the outside, but still a little “wet” in the middle. But hey, it’s not the end of the world.

Of course, in between, the pan started to smoke a little, so I switched the kitchen hood to turbo so the neighbors wouldn’t think I was once again cooking something “my way” (translation: half-burned).

When the pancakes were done, I stacked them on a plate, grabbed the Nutella, and… it wasn’t just a little …it was a lot. If you’re going to indulge, indulge all the way. I topped them with a few fresh strawberries not because it made them healthier, but because it made the photo look like I care about vitamins.😂(just joking I like strawberries)

  1. First, I sprinkled a little powdered sugar on the plate because why should the plate be plain when it can be sweet from the start?
Then I spread Nutella on the pancake as if I were patching holes in an old wall.On top of that, I placed another pancake and spread more Nutella. And so on… You can stack as many as you like, until the tower starts leaning dangerously

  1. In the end, I sprinkled powdered sugar over everything because sugar always wins and added some strawberries.🍓

    3.DONE🥞

CONCLUSION:
I admit a few times while cooking it smelled like “toasted memories,” but that’s just my signature style. In the end, we sat at the table with a pile of pancakes, Nutella on our faces (and fingers, and the table…), and the feeling that I’d done something good for my soul today.😋👌🏻

Very cute, flavorful

❤️🙈

Yea, probably the health-benefit of those strawberries was minimal. But it is probably the cutest topping to chose. I don't know if there is an actual translation of this German saying: Das Auge isst mit (The eye eats along). But if there is, then you followed the wisdom of this saying perfectly. It makes your pancakes look a lot more appealing to the eye. And one or the other milligram of vitamins might have found a way into your system this way anyways. I hope you enjoyed!

Well, the first one was burnt, but the others look tasty :)

Yeeeah😅❤️😂

Hahaha, your cooking style is fun. I love everything you put on the pancakes. Nutella and strawberries are the best—delicious! What a treat! 😋😍

Yes i know right!thank u❤️
