pumpkin vegetables cooked in clear soup

I returned from the office around noon today and hurried to the market to buy mixed vegetables—I thought a mixed vegetable dish would be perfect for lunch. As it happens, my mother isn't feeling well; she has a stomach ache after eating nasi Maulid yesterday—a meal that was spicy and rich with coconut milk—so she asked me to cook a simple, clear vegetable soup today, just like usual.

What makes my mixed vegetable dish different this time is the addition of small, green pumpkins that look incredibly fresh. To complement the flavors, I’m adding oyster sauce; while I usually use oyster sauce in stir-fries, I once had a dish prepared this way—with oyster sauce added—and it tasted absolutely delicious.

That is why I am also going to add oyster sauce to my clear pumpkin soup. This soup doesn't just contain pumpkin; it also includes pumpkin leaves, melinjo leaves, cassava leaves, and papaya blossoms—all for just 5,000 rupiah.or US$0.28—very cheap, isn't it?

It's even better in the afternoon when these vegetables are finely chopped, so we just have to cook them. But here, I’m also roughly chopping some melinjo leaves, since the fresh, young ones haven't been cut up yet.It looks like these melinjo leaves are just ready for picking; they appear fresh, straight from the tree, and very young and tender.

Curious about my simple cooking menu today? Okay, just follow the steps that I will share in my post today.

The ingredients that I use are the first clear vegetables that I bought there, consisting of pumpkin, melinjo leaves, pumpkin leaves, kates fruit, and cassava leaves. There are also a few. Next, for the ingredients, I added two green chilies, 2 cloves of shallots, 1 clove of garlic, and 1 fresh tomato. For the side, I only added salt and oyster sauce to taste.

manufacturing procedure

First

First of all, for every day, prepare long leaves like Melinjo, I chop them into small pieces again, then I wash them thoroughly in clean water.

Second

While I was preparing the vegetables, I was also heating the water and after the water boiled, I added the vegetables.

The water must be boiling before adding the water because if the water is not boiling, the vegetables will be bitter because there are also kates flowers here.

Third

Next, I just want to cut the tomatoes, shallots, and chilies, I also put them in the vegetables. But first, I wash them first until they are clean and I also add salt to the vegetables, just add enough salt.

Four

Finally, I add oyster sauce for seasoning and a touch of natural sweetness; I cook it for another two minutes, then turn off the heat.

RESULTS

And here is the dish I prepared today—it’s ready to enjoy. It’s delicious, with a wonderfully fresh broth that’s great on its own. It’s perfect to eat anytime, but when paired with rice, the flavor is incredibly savory, sweet, and absolutely delightful.

Now, if you're tired of dishes with coconut milk-based broth...
This can be a refreshing alternative that you can enjoy with your family, even though it is very simple, but it is very suitable if you have enjoyed coconut milk soup in a row and this can be a solution.
