Hello, Foodies Bee Hive friends! Today I want to share with you my version of a recipe I saw recently on social media that caught my attention because it's ideal for people who want to take care of their health. It's a chia and strawberry dessert. Join me to see the step-by-step process.

El dia de hoy les quiero presentar mi versión de una receta que vi hace poco en las redes sociales y que llamó mucho mi atención porque es ideal para personas que quieren cuidar de su salud, se trata de un postre de Chía y Fresas. Acompáñenme para ver el paso a paso.

What do we need? / ¿Qué necesitamos?

  • 250 g Strawberries / 250 g. de Fresas
  • 70 g Powdered milk / 70 g. de Leche en polvo
  • Vanilla extract to taste / Esencia de vainilla al gusto
  • 3 Tablespoons chia sedes / 3 Cucharadas de semillas de Chía
  • 3 Tablespoons unflavored gelatin / 3 Cucharadas de gelatina sin sabor
  • Sweetener or sugar to taste / Edulcorante o azúcar al gusto

Preparation / Preparación:

We start by washing the strawberries thoroughly and slicing them, or cutting them however you prefer. Note that you can use other kind of berries if you prefer. Set aside for later.

Iniciamos lavando muy bien las fresas y cortándolas en rodajas, o de la manera que ustedes prefieran. Cabe destacar que pueden usar otro tipo de frutos rojos de su preferencia. Reservamos para más adelante.

Next, pour 500 ml of water into a bowl and add the powdered milk; beat well until the milk has a smooth consistency. Then add the liquid milk to the bowl where we will make the preparation.

Posteriormente, colocamos 500 ml de agua en un tazón y agregamos la leche en polvo; vamos batiendo muy bien hasta lograr una consistencia homogénea en nuestra leche. Luego agregamos la leche líquida en el tazón donde haremos la preparación.

Let’s add the chia seeds and stir. Let stand for about 5 minutes so the seeds hydrate and release their mucilage.

Vamos a agregar las semillas de chía y removemos. Dejamos reposar unos 5 minutos para las semillas se hidraten y suelten su mucílago.

It's time to add your preferred sweetener. In this case, I used three packets of stevia to make this dessert a healthy option, but you can also use sugar or honey. I also added a touch of vanilla extract.

Es hora de agregar el endulzante de nuestra preferencia. En este caso yo utilicé 3 sobres de estevia para hacer de este postre una opción saludable, pero también se le puede colocar azúcar o miel. Del mismo modo le agregué un toque de esencia de vainilla.

Next, place a pot on the stove with 100 ml of water and add 3 tablespoons of unflavored gelatin. Stir well with a hand whisk to dissolve the gelatin and remove any lumps.

Acto seguido, colocamos una olla al fuego con 100 ml de agua y agregamos 3 cucharadas de gelatina sin sabor. Vamos removiendo muy bien con un batidor de mano para disolver de manera tal que no queden grumos.

Now add the dissolved gelatin to the mixture. This step is very important because the gelatin is what will give the recipe a good consistency, as well as providing collagen, an essential nutrient for our health.

Ahora agregamos la gelatina ya disuelta a la preparación. Este paso es muy importante porque la gelatina es lo que le dará una buena consistencia a la receta, además de aportar colágeno, un nutriente esencial para nuestra salud.

All that remains is to add the strawberries as a topping and refrigerate for about 2 hours so that it sets and reaches the desired consistency. Once refrigerated, we are ready to enjoy this delicious and healthy dessert.

Solo resta colocar las fresas como topping y llevar a refrigerar por unas 2 horas para que gelatinice y tome la consistencia deseada. Una vez refrigerado estamos listos s para disfrutar de este delicioso y saludable postre.
