Happy First Monday of the month Foodies Bee Hive! Hello beloved Hiver’s! Welcome to my blog. Hoping for a blessed month of August! How are you all? Hope all is well to each and everyone’s family. For today's blog let me share with you all my Butterfly Squid Recipe.
This recipe is our favorite Squid recipe. We love biting into the deliciousness of the marinated and crispy fried Squid.Well; as you know I have a picky eater daughter and she is the reason why I need to cook different dishes just to make sure she would eat well.
BUTTERFLY SQUID RECIPE
Ingredient’s *1 kilo of medium size Squid *¼ teaspoon salt *2 cloves Garlic *¼ teaspoon ground black pepper *Half sachet Magic sarap seasoning *2 beaten eggs
- 2 cups all purpose flour` *1 cup white vinegar *Bamboo barbeque sticks *Cooking oil for frying *2 pc Calamansi (lemon)
PROCEDURE
*Wash the Squid and remove the eyes, head then cut into half then remove all inside the squid.
*Cut the sides of the Squid to make a butterfly shape by using a scissor.
*In the mixing bowl add the white vinegar then use the vinegar to wash and rub the Squid then rinse it well with water. *Drain the excess water using the colander. *Remove the skin of the Garlic, wash then minced it.
*Transfer the drain Squid to a mixing bowl. *Add the garlic, salt,black ground pepper, Calamansi and the Magic Sarap seasoning.
*Mix or combine well the spices to the Squid. *Marinate for one hour. *Wash the barbeque sticks. *Skewer the Squid into the barbeque sticks.
*In a bowl add the all purpose flour then add a bit of seasoning and black ground pepper for coating. *beat the eggs
- Add the beaten eggs to the squid.
*Dip the squid to the flour mixture.
*Dip again the squid to the eggs then again to the flour mixture.
PREPARE TO FRY
*Add cooking oil to the frying fan to fry. *Use medium heat *When the cooking Oil starts to boil, add the coated squid.
- Fry until golden brown.
- Put the fried Squid in a colander to drain the excess oil. *Best serve when hot.
- You can dip it in hot chili sauce or Mang Tomas but My daughter’s and I do not dip it to any sauce because it's well seasoned and eaten with rice. Good dish for lunch or dinner.
