Wishing all my dear friends a very wonderful day.
Homemade atta kottu roti is a healthy and comforting version of one of the most loved Sri Lankan street foods. By using whole wheat (atta) roti and simple, fresh ingredients, this dish becomes a nutritious choice that the whole family can enjoy. Preparing kottu roti at home also gives you the freedom to adjust the spices, oil, and vegetables to suit your taste and lifestyle.
Let’s see how to prepare it.

Materials Used.
Wheat flour 250g.
1 Cup of Cocking meat curry.
A little water with a slight problem.
1 Egg.
Some chopped onions.
Some chopped garlic.
Some chopped curry leaves.
Some chopped carrots.
Some chopped leeks.
Some chopped green chilies.
Salt to taste.
Some coconut oil.
1 Teaspoon of crushed chill powder.
1/2 Teaspoon of turmeric powder.

The cooking process as follows.
Now, let’s get ready to prepare this dish. First, take a bowl and add the wheat flour. Then add salt, water, and coconut oil in the required amounts and knead the mixture into a soft dough.
Next, divide the prepared dough into small balls. Flatten each ball well into a thin roti and lightly cook both sides. Do it as shown below.
Next, cut the cooked rotis into small strips as shown below.
Now, take a large pan and add about three tablespoons of coconut oil. Once the oil is heated, add garlic, onions, green chilies, curry leaves, chili powder, and turmeric powder, then mix well.
Now, add the carrots, leeks, and egg, and mix well. Then add the roti pieces and mix again. After that, add the meat curry, mix once more, and remove from the heat.
Once prepared, this homemade atta kottu roti becomes a warm and satisfying meal, adding both nutrition and flavor to every bite. Served fresh and hot, it is perfect for lunch or dinner and pairs wonderfully with a simple curry or sambol. This easy homemade version proves that traditional favorites can be enjoyed in a healthier and more mindful way right from your own kitchen.
With that, I’ll take my leave for today. Wishing you all a very wonderful day! 😊
