Patsitivity's Palate: Splurging on Saturdays

in Foodies Bee Hive4 days ago

Denny's, together with other famous restaurants such as Texas Roadhouse, TGIF, Italianni's, is part of The Bistro Group. My Citibank Rewards Credit Card, recently bought by Unionbank, offered a 50% discount to all restaurants under The Bistro Group. This offer is up for grabs for a limited period and only on Saturdays for dine-in customers. Pro tip: You can dine in and add more orders for take out. We've done this twice and they allowed it so long as you dine-in first, I'm very mindful of what I use my credit card for but I'm also in the lookout for offers that hard to miss such as this one. I cook most of the time so splurging (on a discount 😅) once or twice a month won't hurt.

My boyfriend and I decided to dress nicer on a Saturday morning, skipped breakfast because we knew our stomachs would be full after this. We headed to Denny's at Robinsons Galleria right across Cebu Port Area. Before taking our seat and ordering, we confirmed with the staff if the offer still stands. She confirmed it and gladly assisted us to our seats. We love taking the spacious area near the comfort room at it feels a little private away from most customers and it gets the most natural light. If I am not mistaken, we need to reach at least Php 3,000 for us to avail of the promotion. Denny's isn't a cheap restaurant so reaching this amount was not a big deal at all.

We've availed of the promo twice and below are the some of the dishes we ordered in one occasion. I wasn't able to take photos of the food we ordered for take out but they were mostly pasta and pancake (with flavors) for my boyfriend's neices.

Banana Hazelnut Waffle -> Php 275.00
Grilled Chicken Caesar -> Php 545.00 (Big serving)
Smoked Bangus -> Php 495
Hot Chocolate -> Php 145
Americano -> Php 120

Grilled Chicken Caesar -> Php 545.00 (Big serving)
Choco overload Peanut Butter Waffle -> Php 140

Daing silog -> Php 400 (estimate, phased-out from their menu)

Below isn't part of the promotion but I'd like to include it in this post. I couldn't not mention my favorite dish at Denny's. One time, I was heading home from Manila to Cebu at NAIA Terminal 2. After checking-in, I went around and was diappointed to see limited restuarants. I roamed around and chanced upon Denny's at the far end of the terminal (outside the terminal). Without thinking twice, I ordered a bowl of Arroz Caldo (Php 325) and this humble bowl didn't disappoint. Would recommend this!

And for the overall verdict of Denny's, I'd say it's worth the buck only because we dined at a discount. If you're looking for exceptionally delectable dishes for the same price, you can find it elsewhere. But if you're not that picky with food quality, Denny's will surprise you of its bigger than usual serving, friendly and helpful staff and an accessible location where public transportaion passes by. Otherwise, you might want to check other restaurants I've reviewed in the past for better options.

As a goto lover, I find arrozcaldo a bit pricey! I’m just curious lang po how big is the bowl? It feels a little too expensive, but I still wanna try it!so yummy!😋

Hi @missellimac! It was big enough to fill one hungry person's stomach. I didn't order anything else when I had the Arroz Caldo. It was heavenly! 😋❤️

The food looks delicious and the restaurant is nice. Have a wonderful with your boyfriend.
