Breaking the fast with sweet treats and fried foods has somehow become a tradition in my area. Every time it's time to break the fast, there are always fried snacks. Whether it's tempeh, risol, bakwan, or even other types of traditional cakes, they are often the mainstay of our serving plates. This time, I'm cooking something light with a sweet, home-style flavor. This cake is a favorite of many people and is often served at family gatherings and other events. It is also a sweet snack that is often enjoyed with tea.
Pandan Gabin Fla

Gabin fla is a fried gabin petak biscuit filled with pandan fla. Usually, gabin fla is not only filled with pandan, but many people add other types of fillings such as sweet potato, tape, or even other jams according to their taste. The process of making it is almost the same, but the treatment when making the jam will be very different.
Usually, the key to the deliciousness of this cake is in the jam, so the process of making the jam must be paid attention to. Here, I will guide you through one of my favorite recipes for pandan-flavored gabin fla cookies.
Ingredients

1 egg
300 ml of liquid milk
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of powdered milk
3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
100 grams of all-purpose flour
Procedure for Making
Mix milk, salt, and sugar, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

Then add flour, cornstarch, and powdered milk to the pan.

Then cook. While cooking, I remembered to add pandan paste, which should have been added at the beginning when stirring the jam mixture.

Wait for the jam to cool slightly, then spread it on the biscuits. Spread it evenly on the surface of the biscuits, then stick them together with other biscuits.

Make a coating mixture of 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and salt to taste, mix with water and stir until smooth. Then dip the filled gabin bread into the mixture.

Fry immediately in hot oil over low heat until golden brown.

Result

My pandan jam-filled gabin bread is ready to enjoy. Serve while warm or at room temperature—both are excellent. Especially when enjoyed with a nice cup of tea, I'm sure it will be delicious. The jam has a very soft texture, and the outside is very crispy, which makes it even more delicious.

The taste is sweet, savory, and absolutely delicious. I love this cake, especially since it's my mother's favorite dish.
