These mung bean cookies are a special treat for this year’s extraordinary Eid al-Fitr celebration; their cute shapes and striking color combinations add a unique touch.

Hello, foodies! As you know, Ramadan has come to an end, and tomorrow we’ll be celebrating Eid al-Fitr—a moment eagerly awaited by Muslims all over the world. This once-a-year celebration offers a distinct experience compared to other holidays. Yesterday, I made some amazing old-fashioned cookies. Now, I’m really curious about this green bean cookie recipe.

I found this recipe online and immediately wanted to try it. Coincidentally, I just bought a new cookie cutter from an online store—it’s shaped like a super cute little flower. So, instead of wondering, let’s just go ahead and try making it.

Ingredients

150 grams of peeled green beans
200 ml of milk
3 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk
50 grams of butter
2 tablespoons of powdered milk
100 grams of cornstarch
50 grams of all-purpose flour
Pandan food coloring as needed
100 grams of powdered sugar

Instructions

Soak the mung beans for about 2 to 3 hours, then steam until tender.

Once slightly cooled, add sweetened condensed milk and milk, then blend the mung beans until smooth.

Once the mixture is cooked, let it cool, then add flour and powdered sugar, stirring until the dough is easy to shape.

Then divide the dough into two portions: add green food coloring to one and leave the other plain. Roll out the dough and cut out shapes using my cute cookie cutters.

The result is really cute; I absolutely love how my flower-shaped cookie basket is filled to the brim. Eid will be very special with these cookies; my nieces and nephews will definitely love them because they’re the guests who never miss a visit.

The texture is a bit firm, but savory and sweet, with a very fragrant aroma, and what I like most is that the shape and color are so beautiful. The contrast makes them the perfect addition to the selection of dry cookies for this Eid al-Fitr celebration. Well, happy Eid al-Fitr to everyone celebrating!. May we all be able to gather with our loved ones—family and friends—this Eid. Amen. And for those of you who are unsure, don’t forget to try making these green bean cookies. I guarantee you’ll love them.
