Eid al-Adha dishes are always full of stories, cookies being the mainstay of the menu that must be present when the celebration arriver.

Yesterday, two days before the Eid Adha celebration, I was very busy preparing some cookies to be used as the filling for the Eid jars. This time, I chose salty cookies made from cheese. This cookie is synonymous with cheese, but I think it has a unique flavor.

Kastangel Cookies

Kastangel is a cookie made from cheese, usually made from permesan cheese and edam cheese. However, because it is very difficult to find and has an expensive price, I replaced the cheese with more economical cheese, namely using kraft cheese only.

Now one unique thing about this cake, it is not sweet at all, it tastes more salty and savory with a pretty authentic cheese flavor in my opinion. Many people who are sweet lovers always skip ink cookies, but as a cheese lover, I think this cookie is very delicious and has an extraordinary flavor that you don't find in other cookies.

Curious about the preparation process, let's take a look at it step by step.

Now this cake is perfect for those of you who are not sweet lovers and certainly like cheese like me, it's savory and the cake is very soft.

I really like the combination of ingredients, especially using cheese according to the recipe, it might be even more savory than this. However, this economical version is also very delicious. I am not disappointed with the results, it is very suitable for me who enjoys sugar.

As I have said above, store the cookies in an airtight and sealed container so that they will last longer and stay in good condition and crispier. Because this cake at room temperature will be mushy and no longer tasty so it's safe to store it in a jar like I did.
