Between Cold Cachapas and Hot Meat [En-Es]

Recently, I took a trip to the state of Portuguesa, Venezuela, for tourism. On my way back to Lara, I needed to eat something, so I decided to stop at Migo in the city of Cabudare. My original plan was to go to Restaurant Orinoco, but I wasn’t in the right condition for it. The place I had visited in Portuguesa left me exhausted and not properly dressed for a more formal setting.

I ordered a portion of marbled beef, a grilled chicken breast, French fries, cachapas, and a pitcher of panela (or rapadura) juice. I wasn’t alone — there were four of us in total. We had all gone on the trip together.

While the food was being prepared, I chatted with my brother, my stepfather, and my cousin. The place we visited had left me tired but deeply reflective about the beauty of my country. There are hidden places in Venezuela — places without easy access or detailed travel guides. It’s about living your own experience.

As we talked about all that, we finished our first pitcher of juice. We were thirsty and exhausted. After about fifteen minutes, our food arrived, and we were amazed by everything. The best part was that we didn’t have to wait too long, and the time passed quickly thanks to our conversation.

The waiter first placed the sauces on the table to go with the food. Then came the marbled beef, French fries, and cachapas. The chicken took a bit longer. As for the beef, I really enjoyed the flavor — it was fresh and hot.

The meat disappeared from the table quickly. Everyone was starving, so I only managed to eat a small portion. I didn’t order the mixed grill because it’s always loaded with fries and cornmeal dumplings, which I don’t like. I ended up eating the chicken, but I didn’t even get a chance to take a photo — everyone was so hungry that it vanished from the plate as soon as it arrived. It disappeared even faster than the beef.

The French fries were great — a big, generous portion. The flavor was pleasant enough to keep me engaged, especially while talking with my family. Lately, I’ve been eating less greasy food because of my lifestyle — a bit more fitness-oriented — but sometimes, just sometimes, I break my routine.

The cachapas, however, were disappointing. We had to send them back because they were cold. We kindly told the waiter that they were hard, and in the end, we asked to have them packed to go since the new ones took too long to prepare and we were already full.

I think this will be the last time I eat at Migo. The food is good, and the service is fine, but being served cold cachapas is unforgivable for me. The total bill came to 34.25 USDT — a fair amount for the quantity of food. It was reasonable since there were four of us. Details matter; they’re part of the experience and the learning process. I’m not someone who argues with waiters or cooks — I simply make my decision. From now on, it’s a firm no.

No estaba solo, éramos 4 personas.

Ahora no suelo comer tanta grasa debido a mi cotidianidad.

Hey @neruel you are welcome.
Thanks for using @worldmappin 😘

Eyyy, their foods definitely looks good. Its just sad about the cold cachapas. I'm curious why they serve it cold though. Though the serving time is fast, they should't serve their costumers a cold food. Either way, if their food and servings is good, maybe in time, you can forgive them and enjoy their cachapas hot next, next time.

It was one of the most disappointing aspects; I didn't like it at all. Bad overall. Sad, I won't be back!
