Easter mornings have always been special. When we were children, we would look for the nest (made of green grass the previous evening) in the morning and check if the Easter Bunny had brought us presents and Easter eggs. I know it may sound funny, but those were the joys of childhood. The point wasn't even the gift but the feeling of the surprise itself. Of course, breakfast was also special. We would eat boiled ham, hard-boiled eggs, lettuce, green onions, horseradish, and bread. We often had this meal on Easter Eve, the evening before Easter Sunday.

It is how it happened in our family this year too. As I had my scheduled Sunday morning gig (my turn is always on Sunday mornings - it doesn't matter whether it is Easter or not), we had the traditional meal of hard-boiled eggs and ham yesterday evening. This morning, we woke up early and left our home without breakfast.

However, this is exactly what I am bringing today in the video - the breakfast one can have as a guest of the hotel where I play the piano. Once, I posted a guessing game about the ingredients of a smoothie I took; that post was accompanied by photos of some of the stalls with food.

Here you can serve yourself whatever you want. Just take care... if you decide to take too much food, you could have trouble with this fish. 😂

Of course, this was just a joke. 😁

Today, in the sweet section, I saw a traditional Spanish Easter pastry. It is called Mona de Pascua, originating from regions of Murcia and Valencia. It is like a sweet bread, or a simple cake which contains a hard-boiled egg in the middle, but there are also modern versions where a chocolate egg is placed in its centre.

I bought a similar Mona de Pascua yesterday for my son; it was not in this round shape but made as a lizard... and it lasted for less than a few minutes. 😆

Wahhh, we alo give importance about Easter but not as much as what others do. We don't prepare anything and just let the day pass but we know how amazing Easter Day is. It's just that, our family has no celebration or a feast. We treat it just as a normal day but with the thought that it's an amazing day. I am really just surprise that others give more time, more effort into it. I'm used to it, I mean. Anyways, the foods here looks all good. I love to try all those, can you please send some to me 😆😆🤤🤤🤤✨

This time I'll go straight to the nuts and yogurt station and have a tiny wedge of the fruit pie you showed us later... the pineapple one catches my eye.

The yoghurt station is yummy, there is a fridge by the fruits with the yoghurts, which can't be seen from the video. Well, I skipped some things, the omelettes with vegetables that they make in the moment as you wish and you can choose which veggies to put in it, the fried/boiled sausages, beans, the smoothies, the bloody mary... Buddha was there just one day, when I took a photo of him 🤷‍♀

The pie - I think it is just apple pie, not pineapple. They put new pies several times, as the previous ones disappear, as it happened yesterday too. Appearing and disappearing pies 😂

I liked the theme of your traditional food... Well in Argentina I think the different thing at breakfast is the famous rosca de pascua which is similar to the roscón here.

Hahaha, fruits are the healthiest and tastiest thing. Although I am hungry after the fruits in a short time 😂

Rosca de Pascua - it is probably similar to Mona de Pascua then, btw, we just woke up, I slept 10 hours 😂, my husband says just 6 hours more and I am a cat hahah, so I will now to the bakery and buy some mona de Pascua 🤤

Sin dudas una mesa buffet preciosa y bien provista...de hecho me recordó el restaurante de un excelente Hotel de Varadero, tal vez pertenecen a la misma empresa, los españoles tienen muchísimos consorcios hosteleros aquí en Cuba.

Me encantan estás costumbres y tradiciones, pero en mi país exceptuando los católicos ya casi no existen costumbres sobre determinadas comidas para estas fechas...que triste...y lo agradable que resulta sentarse en la mesa y compartir en familia.

Creo que comí demasiado cuando fui a ese hotel que visité...es mucha la tentación...ese pastel de manzana se ve delicioso...😋

Sí, tienen muchas cosas y buenas, y además con las vistas al mar, y música de piano en fondo, la gente me dice que es la mejor parte del desayuno jaja 😁
Esta empresa creo que tiene solo en España, empezaron con este hotel y luego han añadido 2 o 3 más, pero no sé, a lo mejor lo abren en Varadero, pediré el traslado entonces jajaja

Evidentemente nuestros Hoteles son consorcios españoles, uno de los Hoteles en los que estuve el año pasado en Varadero se llama Solimar...demasiada coincidencia 😅

Tal vez un día realicen un intercambio cultural entre Hoteles de aquí y de allá y puedas visitarnos...solo por las playas vale la pena querida amiga.

Estoy segura que tener un piano de fondo mientras se disfruta de una buena comida es una experiencia inolvidable... contigo al piano más...😉

Good evening @mipiano, what an appetizing buffet. I tell you, about the traditional sweet that we eat at home during these days I have to talk about the wine and milk torrijas. Every year a big tray is filled with them and little by little, every day there are less and less left... a little while ago I ate the last one. Oh, I saw these in the bakery, and my friend said it was torrijas, but I didn't know what it was. We sometimes make a simple version at home, just old bread in eggs, but this version is much more tasty!!! Yummy!!! So, I need to try torrijas one day! 🤤 Thank you

Yes, beat an egg (or two, depending on how many bread slices you want), add a bit of salt, put the slice into the egg and then into hot oil until it gets the golden colour, and that's it. I used to make it when I had leftover bread from one or two days, but it is not good with fresh bread. You can put garlic on it, too. It is very similar to torrijas but without milk, in a salty version.

It is called bundás kenyér, I hope you understand Hungarian hahahahha video 😂

Today I made my own version (with pepper, ginger and ground garlic) and I was surprised at how juicy it turned out.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for me, if I have had a good breakfast, my day is better. This has been tested and confirmed by myself XD It's nice to see other people joining me.

It indeed is the most important. You do it well then! However, we tend (in general) to eat more for lunch. Or dinner, when I arrive home hungry 😂
