Maize nutritional value is high and very rich in carbohydrates, proteins, vitamin B complex, vitamin C, A and E, it contains minerals like magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, phosphorus selenium and manganese, water, fat and dietary fibre which help digestion too.
Maize is diverse, it can be a snack, a food, made as puddy, dried for future purposes to produce pap , can be combined with other food like beans and so on.
From the month of march when farmers plant their maize, it takes up to 4 month to harvest and it's usually planted in the raining season as to help the crops grow well.
As at now it's a popular snack in various street of Nigeria especially that of the roasted maize and as well as the boiled maize,
Many prefer the roasted maize because it's fast to make and it's believed that the nutrients are still intact, you just remove the maize from it's cob and then place it on the hot coal to roast. When it's okay you can eat it with pear or coconut.
While my favourite is the cooked maize, I Enjoy it more and it's fast too to make at home, you just remove it from this cob and but in a boling water you can add salt as well, its a choice and when it's okay you can eat with pear or coconut too, it's really Enjoyable.🤗
