I had low expectations for this place.

Not only because the place that’s located a little hidden, every new coffee spot I’ve visited lately is either trying too hard to be aesthetic or serves coffee that feels just like drinking bitter water. If you have visited way too many coffee spaces as I do, you directly notice it. But my friends and I were not visiting this place for the coffee, I heard the food is sort of decent.

We got there around noon as we were hungry after chugging coffee in another place. There were plenty of options in their menu which had me confused but I knew just what to get especially after many months of not eating spicy food and craving a certain food from the city, Nasi Ayam Geprek.

I didn’t expect the portion would be just enough. The chicken was crispy and the sambal complemented it so well that my craving goes away in an instant. Then I also ordered a platter of fried chicken skin on the side and shared it with my friends. It wasn’t as oily as any other place would serve it.

My friend ordered the Nashville chicken with rice and they said it was delicious. For us, it's a place where we can return to for the meal, not the coffee though.

At this point, a cafe is either going to serve you a really good coffee or a really good food. Hardly any cafe would serve both.

The fried chicken skin as I said wasn't so oily and it was that good. It was crispy with good batter as if they have unlocked the true secret of making fried chicken skin.

Now that I am back to the "village", I am happy knowing that I am living close to plenty spots that serves good coffee and meal!
