A Sweet and Savory Dish: Embutido In Every Occasion

@foodiesbeehive hello food lovers in this community..I'm back after being so much busy in school activities,today
I wanna share to you one of my favorite dish prepared whenever I have some occasions or when there are holidays and family gatherings at home,this is somewhat a version of a meatloaf and it's called Embutido. Embutido is usually made from ground pork,mixed with breadcrumbs, eggs and other seasonings,but you can choose to use also chicken or tuna as your preference.

Embutido is so much filled with some extra ingredients like sausage,cheese,raisins and usually it's wrapped in a foil,steamed and pan fried,sliced into rounds.



Here are the ingredients to used in making it:
1kg ground pork (lean meat)
4 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoon of paprika powder
2 tablespoons of sugar
1/4 c of all purpose flour
3 wholes eggs
1/2 pickle relish
1/2 cup evap milk
1/4 cup of pineapple juice
1/2 cup of chopped carrots
1/2 cup of chopped onions
1cup of grated cheese
Canned of sausage(optional)
1/2 cup of raisins
1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
Optional:you can also add the following
Hotdog
Boiled egg
Ham

Here are the steps in making it:
MIXING THE BASE
In a large bowl combine,the ground pork, salt,pepper,onion, garlic,bell pepper,carrots,raisins, cheese, breadcrumbs,and flour.

Mix it thoroughly until all the ingredients will be mixed and dissolved.

Prepare the pork mixture and start filling in the plastic,placed a slice hard boiled egg at the center you can also add sausage or hotdogs in it, rolled it out tightly,and then wrap it using a foil,forming it into a logs.Sealed both ends of the foil so that the water will not enter into it.

STEAM THE EMBUTIDO
Place the wrapped embutido in a steamer for at least 40-60 minutes over a medium heat or until it's cooked.

COOLING AND SLICING
Once it's cooked,let it warm for a while,and start slicing it.You can serve it with ketchup or chili sauce.

FRYING THE EMBUTIDO
You can choose to fry it whenever you want because Embutido can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 month.You can slice and pan fry it if you want crispness of the exterior portion.

This festive dish often served with a ketchup,this easy to slice and share dish can be eaten warm or cold or can paired with rice.

Embutido really holds a special place in Filipino cuisine. For me, it's one of the most unique foods and I like it at times.
