Hello Everyone!

Earlier during lunchtime, a family friend dropped by unexpectedly and brought a Curacha. It was my first time seeing one, and I was immediately amazed by how unique it looked. Unlike the crabs I’m used to, the curacha had a bright reddish shell and a huge, sturdy body. It looked both strange and fascinating at the same time.

My uncle couldn’t resist making a joke, calling it the “cockroach of the sea.” I honestly didn’t know if that was true or just one of his playful remarks, but I could see why he said that—it really does look a little like one!
Despite the joke, everyone was excited to try it. The Curacha was enormous compared to ordinary crabs, and it looked so delicious once served. The rich aroma made us all gather around the table, eager to have a taste.

When I finally took my first bite, I understood why people talk about it so much. The meat was tender and flavorful unlike anything I’ve tasted before. It had a rich, ocean fresh taste that made it truly special.
But to be honest, although the Curacha was good, I would still prefer crabs. For me, crabs are still more delicious. There’s something about their flavor and texture that I find more satisfying and familiar.
Still, I’m glad I finally got to try Curacha. It was a fun and memorable experience—one that added a new story to our family lunch and a new seafood dish to my list of must try.
