RE: Egyptian Street Food Culture | The Art Behind The Kitchen ๐ŸŽจ

in Foodies Bee Hive โ€ข 3 days ago

Hey Hive! Quick translation for my international friends ๐ŸŒ

The wall says: "ู‡ุนู…ู„ ู„ูƒ ูุทูŠุฑ ูŠุงุฎุฏูƒ ูˆูŠุทูŠุฑ" = "I'll make you feteer that takes you flying" ๐Ÿ˜‚

Feteer is Egypt's famous layered pastry. Like a croissant and pizza had a delicious baby. We eat it sweet with honey or salty with cheese + meat.

This art is from a small feteer shop in Sharkia, Egypt. Each comic tells an old Egyptian movie story.

This is why I love Egyptian street food culture - we don't just sell food, we sell stories and nostalgia.

Have you ever tried Egyptian food? What's the most artistic restaurant you've seen?
