One of the things I look for when I am out of the country is the food! 😌 It's been years since my trip to Thailand, and what I was really craving was their Satay Chicken. 🍴
I found a restaurant called Easy, Tiger! I chose this restaurant because of its affordable prices. The Google review is under 4 stars, which is my benchmark for good food, but I still wanted to check it out myself. 😊
While waiting for our turn, I was deciding what I should eat. Easy, Tiger offers meal sets that include the papaya salad and the tom yum broth. Ordered our food and took a seat in the corner.
After 10 minutes, the food and drinks arrived! Woohoo! 🥳
I got the Sate Bacon Belly ($4) and Thai milk tea ($2).
Four skewers, steamed rice with fried garlic toppings, green papaya salad, a vinegar dip, and the tom yum soup.
My friend got his food at the same time. He got the beef with basil with fried egg ($4.50) and Thai milk tea ($2). Same with friend garlic toppings, green papaya salad, a vinegar dip, and the tom yum soup.
For the price, the amount is decent. The rice is a lot for me, maybe half is enough, but it is enough for a regular asian.
As soon as the dishes were on our table, I knew my friend was disappointed. 😐 The frown on his face is so real. I asked him, “Hey, what’s wrong?” He pointed at the egg….
Yup, the egg is totally fried to the point of dryness. 😫 “It is not the same as the picture. This will not fill me up” he muttered.
I understand where he is coming from. 😕 It is disappointing to be served food that is way off from the advertised picture.
“This would be the last time I will eat in this place.” he said with a hard sigh. Part of me felt guilty, though.
My food was good. These were the flavors I was craving. The meat was soft and well-seasoned. I put a bit of the peanut sauce and rice in one bite.
The green papaya salad was okay, nothing special, but a nice palate cleanser. The tom yum soup is a sour soup. I was not sure if it has a shrimp broth, which I am allergic so I just gave t my friend.
The milk tea is half tea and half ice. I should had said less ice but I doubt if they will reduce the amount of ice. I like their milk tea- not sweet! Same as what I had when I was in Thailand. 🧋
The place was tiny but was well-curated with Thai decor. On shelves, they were decorated with the ingredients and seasonings. I cannot take pictures of the whole place because there were other diners.
While we were eating, the situation of my friend got worse when he saw little bugs coming out of the wooden wall. We both got grossed out… Like, holy cow… not when we were eating! That’s it, I will not come back to this branch…😕
The bug really bothered us. We did not report to the staff because we did not care at this point anymore. One more thing, the lady on the cashier was taking notes and not minding us, stopped me in the first word that came from my mouth and kept us waiting for a minute. Sighhh...
I was happy with my order, but my friend was struggling to finish his food. To wrap it up, I like the food and the milk tea, but I will never come back again.
I guess the reviews were right after all.
