After spending the morning distributing relief goods to the victims of Typhoon Tino, my family and I felt both tired and fulfilled. There’s something about helping others that leaves your heart full—but also makes your stomach rumble! So we decided to head to the local market to buy something delicious for lunch.

Choosing the Star of the Day
The moment we arrived at the market, we already knew what we wanted. We went straight for the bangus, our top choice for grilling. It’s my brother’s all-time favorite—nothing beats Sinugbang Bangus for him.

Prepping the Perfect Grilled Bangus
When we got home, I immediately started cleaning the fish. Then I prepared the classic stuffing: fresh onions, ripe tomatoes, and fragrant spring onions. I squeezed in some calamansi juice to remove any fishy smell and give the bangus that zesty kick.

For anyone planning to grill bangus:
Make sure you slice open the belly and place all the ingredients inside. That’s where all the magic happens—the flavors come together and make every bite juicy and delicious.

I also sliced up some cucumber because it’s the perfect side dish, especially when paired with vinegar mixed with crushed pepper. Simple, but always satisfying.

Grilling by the Seaside
Once everything was ready, I headed outside to start grilling. One of my favorite things about our home is its location right by the sea. Imagine grilling your favorite food while enjoying the sound of waves and the fresh ocean breeze—pure bliss!

After about 15 minutes, the bangus was perfectly cooked. The timing couldn’t have been better because my mom and sister arrived home from church just as I took the fish off the grill.

A Warm Meal, A Warmer Moment
The Sinugbang Bangus turned out incredibly delicious, especially while it was still hot. Sharing that simple yet hearty meal together felt like the perfect way to end a meaningful day.

Moments like these-cooking with love, and eating with family—are the ones I truly treasure.
Thank you for taking the time to read. See you on my next blog.
