Greetings dear friends, welcome to my blog. Today I am once again joining the weekly contest Qurator's: Hive Top Chef! | Seafood Special. Seafood is one of my favorites. A few days ago, I bought some shrimp at the supermarket and was delighted—they were big and fresh. I used them to make two dishes, including the recipe for this contest. I think I’ll buy a little more on my next trip to the supermarket.

This time, I made shrimp sautéed in olive oil and seasoned with salt and pepper. It was a great experience for me and a different way to enjoy this seafood. I didn’t want to repeat a recipe—I’ve already made rice, casseroles, pasta, and breaded dishes. In short, to get a different result, you have to do something different. Not only was it delicious, but I also ended up with a nutritious dish, served with vegetables and packed with protein.

A delicious dish that comes together in just a few steps. I added carrots, which I decided to sauté in the same oil I’d used for the shrimp. The flavor the carrots took on was exquisite—a contrast between the sea and sweetness that I don’t know how to explain. I hope you like the recipe.

Ingredients

- 6 peeled and deveined shrimp
- 150 grams of broccoli
- 1 carrot (65 grams)
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 2 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

1.- Remove the leaves from the broccoli, wash it, and cut it into individual florets to make it easier to cook.

2.- Boil it with a teaspoon of salt, to taste, until it has softened. Once it's ready, turn off the heat, remove it from the water, and let it cool to room temperature. Set aside.

7.- Peel the carrot, wash it, and cut it into julienne strips. Then, sauté them in the same oil used to brown the shrimp until they are tender. Season with salt to taste beforehand.
